Serving at Mass
Altar Servers
Young men in grade 3 and above who assist the priest at the altar. Servers learn the parts of the Mass from the inside — carrying the cross and candles, holding the missal, preparing the altar for the offering. It is good and formative work, and many priests trace their vocation back to it.
Training is provided; no prior experience is needed.

Lectors
Readers who proclaim the Scriptures at Mass and at other services. The lector's job is to read clearly enough that the congregation hears the Word of God rather than the reader. Assignments are made on a rotating schedule, and readings are provided in advance so you can prepare.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Parishioners commissioned to assist in distributing Holy Communion at Mass, and to bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound of the parish. The second part of that work is quieter than the first and matters just as much — for a parishioner who can no longer come to church, this visit is their contact with the parish.

Music Ministry
Sacred music belongs to the liturgy, not beside it, and the parish maintains a program of chant, hymnody, and choral music in keeping with the Church's tradition. The choir sings at our Sunday 9:30AM Mass and rehearses Wednesdays from 6PM to 7PM in the choir loft. Cantors, choir members, and instrumentalists are all welcome — the ability to read music helps but is not required.

Greeters & Ushers
Greeters are Parishioners who welcome people at the doors before Mass, hand out bulletins, and help visitors find their way. It is a small commitment with an outsized effect: for a newcomer or a returning Catholic, the person at the door is the parish.
Ushers are Parishoners who assist in gathering the weekly collection during Mass.

Formation and the Sacraments
OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
Learn MorePreparation for adults seeking baptism, reception into full communion with the Catholic Church, or the completion of their initiation through Confirmation and First Communion.
Registration takes place from May through August each year. Classes begin in early September and run through the Easter Vigil, when candidates are received.

Baptism Preparation
Preparation for parents and godparents before the baptism of a child, covering what the sacrament does and what the parents are promising to undertake in raising the child in the faith.
Parents should call the parish office to arrange a meeting well in advance of the desired baptism date.

Parish Leadership & Getting Involved
Parish Council
The Pastoral Council advises the Pastor on the liturgical, spiritual, and pastoral life of the parish, and takes part in most parish activities and programs. Members are appointed by the Pastor.

Finance Committee
The Finance Council advises the Pastor on the financial affairs of the parish. It monitors income and expenses, reviews and approves the annual budget, and oversees maintenance and capital projects. Members with a background in accounting, finance, law, or construction are particularly useful.
