Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua and Immaculate Conception. Fr. Mariano Varela, a priest of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE), was born in Argentina. From an early age, he felt a strong calling to religious life and promptly joined the IVE, embracing its mission to evangelize and serve communities around the world.
Demonstrating deep commitment and maturity, Fr. Mariano was ordained a priest at just 24 years old, on December 6, 1997. His early ordination marked the beginning of a journey characterized by dedication, compassion, and leadership. Shortly after ordination, Fr. Mariano was assigned to serve in Guyana, where he spent ten years ministering to the faithful. His work in Guyana was marked by tireless service, fostering spiritual growth and supporting local communities in both pastoral and educational capacities.
Following his missionary years, Fr. Mariano continued his vocation in Minnesota, where he served as both pastor and rector of a high school seminary. Fr. Mariano's pastoral journey led him next to Baltimore. Currently, he finds joy serving in New Bedford, MA, where he continues to dedicate himself wholeheartedly to his parishioners and the broader community.

Fr. Mario Rojas was born in Chile into a devout Catholic family, whose faith and values shaped his upbringing and inspired his vocation. Fr. Mario felt a growing call to dedicate his life to God through the priesthood. Motivated by the example of his family and the vibrant Catholic community in Chile, he discerned his vocation with sincerity and openness, eventually joined the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE) being ordained priest on December 12, 2012. One of his notable assignments was serving in the Netherlands for ten years, where he continued his ministry among diverse communities. In the Netherlands, Fr. Mario embraced the challenge of working in a new cultural context while remaining faithful to the charism of the IVE.

Fr. Jayapaul Polisetti, IVE

Fr. Jayapaul Polisetti, IVE, was born in India, where he grew up in a vibrant Catholic community. Fr. Jayapaul joined the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE), and entered the seminary in the Philipine to begin his formal training for the priesthood. In July 25, 2020, Fr. Jayapaul Polisetti was ordained to the priesthood.
After his ordination, Fr. Jayapaul received his first pastoral assignment in Guyana, South America. His journey from India to Guyana continue in St. Anthony's and the Immaculate Conception parish in New Bedford.

Mother Mary Aeiparthenos, S.S.V.M - Director of Religious Education
Mother Aeiparthenos serves as the local superior to the Sisters of the Institute Servants of the Lord and Virgin of Matara. In addition, she serves as the Director of Religious Education for the combined CCD and OCIA programs of St. Anthony of Padua and Immaculate Conception parishes.

Daniel B. Marshall serves as Director of Sacred Music and Organist at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He also serves as organist for the 11:00 AM Portuguese Mass at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish in New Bedford.
As a composer, arranger, engraver, and hymn text author, Daniel has written original hymn texts and composed musical settings for psalms and other liturgical works in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin. He is passionate about music engraving—the art of typesetting music with clarity and aesthetic beauty—recognizing the importance of beauty in all aspects of the Liturgy as a means of giving glory to God. His articles on sacred music have been published on Corpus Christi Watershed (ccwatershed.org), an prominent online resource dedicated to promoting authentic Catholic liturgical music.
Always looking to improve his craft, Daniel acitvely studies composition and improvisation with Dr. Peter Latona, Director of Music at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
Previously, Daniel served as Director of Sacred Music at St. Michael's and St. Joseph's Parishes in Fall River, Massachusetts, where he worked with his pastor to restore traditional Sacred Music with great success.
